You don't need to be online to play the game.
The new 1v1 and 2v2 gameplay options will allow players to select one or two characters to comprise their team, instead of the standard 3v3 matches. The update also adds new levels to Ranked Match play, as well as the new Galactic Arena stage.

Basic ControlsNote: The controls used to play Dragon Ball FighterZ are a combination of keyboard keys, the mouse and mouse buttons. all keys can be re-assigned using the Controls tab found in the Options tab on the main menu of the game. From there you can change the key bindings. It's end.
Here's how to unlock them all: Android 21: Beat the story (consists of 3 arcs, each one has 9 chapters). Vegeta (SSGSS): Earn 300,000 Zeni across all game modes or beat Arcade's “Gravity Spaceship Course” with A-Rank on hard difficulty. To begin a Party Battle, you'll need to head over to the correct area in the lobby. Simply press L2 and warp over to the Party Battle area (it should be at the bottom of the list). Bottom. The bottom of the octagon is open, and has a staircase that leads down from it. Walking down this path will prompt the game to ask the player if they wish to change lobbies. Upon joining a lobby, the player will be placed here as well.
There's also the blocking aspect of Dragon Ball FighterZ, which can be difficult to master and time correctly. Using the left analog stick, you can either press backwards, away from your opponent to block a normal attack, or back and downwards to block a low attack.

There is a single player arcade as well as a story, both of which can earn you fun bucks in the game to unlock colours, titles, and lobby characters. The story is meh at best, but so long as you temper expectation, it's pretty fun. But I think the game is very much worth it.
Dragon Ball FighterZ on the Switch is, simply put, the best fighting game we've seen on the system yet. The stunning visuals, intense action and easy-to-master controls make FighterZ a game all fans of the genre should have in their library. If you only play this kind of game casually, it remains a must-own.
