With PS4 exclusivity coming to an end, Call of Duty fans will be able to download the Modern Warfare 2 remaster from April 30 on PC and Xbox.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer is being remastered by eight fans. The publisher opted not to remaster the multiplayer portion of the game however, and only the single-player campaign was remastered for release on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
After a short period of PlayStation 4 exclusivity, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Remastered is now available on PC. It's only available on Battle.net, and it's only the campaign: don't expect to jump into multiplayer or Spec Ops missions.

The enhanced version of Modern Warfare 2 only includes the single-player campaign. The remastered version adds high-definition visuals and audio improvements to the original story from 2009, according to a blog post by Activision.

Although the price is steep, MW2 Remastered is definitely worth buying. The Call of Duty League is back in its prime.

At least at launch, the game does not include multiplayer. It's possible (though perhaps unlikely) that a multiplayer update could be unveiled later. There are remastered MW2 maps already in the "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare" game.

Keep in mind that you still have the offchance to get into a modded lobby as I do sometimes but for the most part, the game is still active. Though if you are down to wait longer, you can also play MW3 as that is also an option, I've only found 1 hacker.
