You are able to wear water shoes in the pools and rivers like Waturi Beach and TeAwa the Fearless River. However, footwear is not allowed on any of the tube attractions. For more detailed information we do have a Volcano Bay Rider's Guide available on our website.
You can take in reasonable food, in clear bags. Universal Theme Parks' security is MUCH BETTER than Disney's and they will check. Volcano Bay is beautiful, don't miss out on seeing it.
All the Water is HEATEDThe pools, rivers and rides all have water heated to over 80 degrees. Tip: I know it's still chilly when you get out of the water.
Proper swim attire – it's required for all rides at Volcano Bay Orlando. Water shirts/rash guards to protect you from the sun, although you'll need to remove them for the trap door slides. Glasses and sunglasses – as long as they're not considered loose items, you can wear them on rides.
We really think the best way to experience Volcano Bay is to do it over a couple of days. Park hopping is easy at Universal, especially if you're staying at an on-site hotel and have older children. With longer summer hours, it's not a stretch to visit all three parks in one day.
The cabanas are not worth the money, I think the cost was $500. It is better to stay at Cabana Bay hotel and just walk to the park. You will have no problem getting chairs with an umbrella. Skip the locker, no one is going to touch your stuff.
It is also worth noting that Volcano Bay, like the rest of Universal Studios Orlando, is currently operating at limited capacity during its phased reopening process. Therefore, the amount of people at the water park is limited compared to what it would normally be. It's a water theme park.
Does Volcano Bay provide towels? Yes, but you have to pay for them (currently $4.99). So take your own to avoid having to rent Volcano Bay towels. Hotels don't want you to take their room towels to the water park, so I highly recommend traveling with thin linen towels.
Florida Residents can dive in for less with a special online discount. Volcano Bay's one-day ticket is $70 for Florida Residents. That's a $10 savings if you book online and in advance. Parking is in a parking structure and then you will have to take a bus to get to Volcano Bay. A hassle, yes, but they do a pretty good job with the setup. Parking at the time was $20 for regular parking. They do have RV parking for $22 and Prime Parking for $30.
