Players can possess a unit by highlighting them with a cursor and then pressing F.
Each faction has about seven units, typically including a melee infantry unit, a ranged unit, a heavy unit, and a boss unit. Some factions will also have support or artillery units as well. There are about 70 planned units planned for the full game, not including the secret units.
The only campaigns where you can use all secret units is the simulation campaign, the adventure, and the challenge. The secret units are all unlocked by hovering over something in the map, and then unlocking it. The bank robbers are the only unit that breaks this rule.
