This varies across providers but generally if you break the contract then you'll need to pay a fee as well as potentially paying off the remainder of the contract you owe. Even after your minimum term is over there will still likely be a notice period of around 30 days, so be sure to plan ahead.

Search the internet to find utility companies and internet providers in your area, and compare services, plans and prices. Also check the city and county's website for information on setting up utilities. Make sure you schedule installation at least two weeks prior to your move-in date.

How do I upgrade my plan?

- In an EE store. To upgrade in store, make sure you have your 4GEE WiFi number (this can be found at the top of your monthly bill).
Unfortunately you can not transfer an account to another person. This means, as you have found, you will have to stop your account. Because you are not moving your account to another address or transferring to another provider in a recognised manner (MAC code) you are in effect stopping your connection.
In most cases you can just move the router to the new location and plug it in. You won't need to change any settings if it was working at the old location. You should move the WiFi access point to a location central to the devices that will use it.
How do I change my password for My EE?
- log in to My EE.
- click on Your Profile.
- click Edit, next to Password.
- change your password and click Save.
Arrange with your broadband provider of choice to move or install services at your new address. If an engineer is required, an appointment will be made as close to moving day as possible. If an engineer is not required, a router will be sent to your new address and broadband setup will be completed for you.
Early Exit Fees on VodafoneOn Vodafone, you'll need to pay an early termination fee that is 81.7% of the remaining payments over the minimum term of your contract.
Before you do anything drastic, you might be able to fix it by simply moving your router. The same principle applies to your Wi-Fi: barriers between your router and your devices make the signal worse. So the physical placement of your device makes a startlingly big difference in your signal across the house.
Contact your new broadband provider and ask them when they can transfer you over to the new contract. Book the date for the transfer. Call your old provider to confirm that you want to cancel on the day your new service starts.
Vodafone customers can download the Broadband app on iOS or Android to check their speeds. You can check your speed via the 'info' menu and if it shows a lower speed than the guarantee, you can apply for the discount automatically.
In most cases, regardless of provider, you need to allow two weeks from purchase for your new broadband service to be up and running. There are exceptions to this, such as if you already have the required line, you can self-install without the need to wait for an engineer, which can cut waiting times.
You could take your cable modem and your router, and establish service at their house. However, there are a few issues with that, depending on the cable company. Some ISPs will not allow a cable modem that is still active on another account on their network start new service at a different location.
Your new provider will take care of everything involved in the switch, including getting your current broadband cancelled. If you're switching to or from a provider on a different network, however - like Virgin Media - you'll need to call up your current provider and cancel the service yourself.
