Debenhams has confirmed the closing date for 27 of its stores in England and Wales. The 242-year-old retailer, which collapsed last year, had reopened 97 stores of its stores after lockdown for a final closing down sale with up to 80% off fashion and home products.
Joint administrator Geoff Rowley said: "The Debenhams liquidation clearance continues online, and will restart in stores in England, Wales and Northern Ireland once restrictions allow.

LONDON, May 5 (Reuters) - British department store retailer Debenhams will permanently close its remaining stores on May 15, bringing the curtain down on 242 years of trading.
In 2019, it underwent a CVA, with plans to shutter over 50 of its stores from 2020. It has also called for rent reductions on the remaining 127 stores.
Boohoo bought Debenhams' brand in January in a deal that will see all of its 124 stores close. The acquisition will allow Boohoo, which specialises in fashion for younger people, to add new customers, as well as moving into areas such as beauty, sport and homeware.
