Having a bent rim can cause the tire to leak air. This will lead to poor fuel economy and decreased handling performance. If severe enough, it can lead to a flat tire or even a blowout. This can be considerably dangerous if driving at highway speeds.

In order to fix your bent rim you will need a dead blow hammer, blow torch and a block of wood. Heat up the bend on your wheel with a blow torch. However, be careful not to over heat and get your tire hot. Hold the piece of wood over the bend.
You should be able to replace the one rim on its own, however depending on the wear of the tyres on the same "axle" i.e. the one opposite it, you should maybe consider replacing both tyres to maintain even grip characteristics. Just the one rim is fine.
I think if you go slow(better than walking) and take it easy on turns and breaks, you should go I would imagine anywhere from 5 - 30 miles depending on rim/tire/steel/aluminum and what not. And to people suggesting run flats. yea, if you don't mind paying a crap load for tires every couple years.

It depends on where the crack is. If the crack is anywhere from the tire bead (where the tire attaches to the rim) across the width of the rim, then yes the tire will lose air. In any case a cracked rim should be replaced. Driving on such a rim is very dangerous.
How to Repair a Bent Rim From a Pothole
- Remove the Tire. Position the jack underneath the car on the side with the bent rim. Raise the jack to lift the vehicle.
- Fix Your Tire. Put on your goggles and protective gloves. Heat the bent area of the rim with the blow torch.
- Replace Your Tire. Roll the tire back to the vehicle.
do not jb weld it! because it will seep into the crack, and when you realized that jb didnt fix the job, and decide to get it welded, the jb will be a huge pain in the welders ***!

if the wheel and tire were mounted and balanced to -0.05 discrepancy or less then they will be able to do an alignment. bent rims don't have a huge impact since they are often "tapped out" as long as the bead seal is there and the wheel retains it's factory integral shape.

A leak in the bead seal occurs when water infiltrates the wheel and sits where the tyre and the rim meet. Remove any excess air left in the tyre by putting pressure on the valve stem.
