Waders are one area where duck hunters shouldn't scrimp on quality. Duck hunters commonly use camo clothing, a blind bag, binoculars, a thermos, flashlights, decoy gloves, mechanical decoys, and other accessories. But none of these items is an absolute necessity.
Regarding the upper part of the wader, the most important things to consider are inseam (heel to crotch), outseam (heel to underarm), chest and waist. A tall will typically offer a larger inseam and outseam, while a stout will offer a larger chest, waist and hip measurement, sometimes with a shorter inseam and outseam.

Neoprene waders are very well insulated and can keep your legs warmer in the winter. These, in my opinion, are the best neoprene waders on the market and are ideally made for cold-water fishing and wading. They are made with a strong, durable design and are resistant to leak-causing nicks and dings.
I had a leak and quality issues with the Banded so I returned them. I really like the Drake breathables and they were good through all of last season. Doesn't get too cold where I hunt so breathables are the way to go.

Stocking foot waders, on the other hand, are waders that don't have boots attached. Instead, they have neoprene stockings AKA booties attached to the legs. These booties keep your feet dry but offer no real protection or support for wading in rivers.
One disadvantage to nylon or polyester waders, however, is that they're not as durable as neoprene or rubber. They can be prone to tears and punctures, especially in stress points such as the knees and seat.
Waterfowl hunters must essentially do three things to keep warm: stay dry, block the wind, and control body heat. Staying dry involves wearing outer layers of clothing-such as a hat, parka, and pants-made from 100 percent waterproof and breathable fabrics.
This presents special challenges to duck hunters, who need warm, waterproof clothing. Hunters must also not be seen by the ducks. It is therefore important to wear camouflaged clothing. You need to be dressed for 'duck weather'.
