I've used the Inzer Forever Lever Belt for the past 13 years. It's one of the most durable powerlifting belts on the market and is made from the highest quality materials. Case in point: the belt buckles on other lifting belts will begin to break after a few years.
It's made from a heavy elastic material that provides the highest level of compression. What does IPF Approved Mean? The IPF (International Powerlifting Federation) only allows equipment to be worn in IPF sanctioned competitions that has been officially approved by an IPF Technical Committee.
The rulebook states that a lifter cannot use “elbow sleeves, knee wraps, knee sleeves, tape applied around a limb or finger, supportive lifting suit, supportive briefs, compression shorts, supportive shirts or compression shirtsâ€.
For example, the USPA and SPF in the USA use deadlift bars. But in the IPF, the diameter requirement for a barbell is 28-29 mm, and they do not allow deadlift bars to be used. Other competitions use specific bars for the bench, squat, and deadlift with their respective weight, length, diameter, and 'bendy-ness.
2) Non supportive wraps: Wraps made of medical crepe or bandage and sweatbands do not require IPF approval. g. General - Baby powder, pool hall chalk, liquid chalk, resin, talc or magnesium carbonate are the only substances that may be added to the body or attire.
The difference between the two classifications boils down to this: Raw lifters shun the use of some or all supportive equipment such as weightlifting belts, knee wraps, bench press shirts, and squat suits. Equipped lifters don't.
WHAT IS LIFTING “RAW Technically speaking, “raw†in the world of powerlifting means lifting with little to no additional equipment (lifting belts, bench shirts, wrist wraps, knee sleeves, etc.). This gear most often refers to deadlift and squat bodysuits as well as bench press shirts.
By wearing a singlet, the judges can clearly check the lifter's movement and determine whether or not to give a pass or a fail. However, singlets may also give the lifters an athletic advantage because they are compressive.
Let's call it what it is, but a knee sleeve by itself won't increase the squat. There are multiple factors and aspects that need to align for this piece of supportive equipment to provide any physical increase.
What Is Raw? In theory, “Raw†powerlifting means lifting with little to no additional equipment. In practice, “Raw†powerlifting means in competition, athletes are (generally) only allowed to use approved lifting belts, an approved singlet, approved wrist wraps, approved knee sleeves, and chalk.
The USAPL uses a stiff bar for all 3 lifts, while the USPA uses a deadlift bar for deadlift, and then uses a squat bar for the heavier weight classes.
We are proud to partner up with Pioneer to offer American-made A7 powerlifting belts. The belt is IPF approved and is allowed in all IPF competitions and its affiliate federations like USA Powerlifting.
Knee wraps are not legal in raw powerlifting contests in the IPF. If your federation allows them, you'll have to check their rulebook for specifics. Generally speaking, most federations allow for 2.5m in length and ~3†in width. 2.5m knee wraps commonly allow a lifter to squat 25-75lbs more than they otherwise could.
2. It's Hard To Get A Snug Fit. Because there are no laces on deadlift slippers, and the material is somewhat loose and flexible, it's hard to get a snug fit. When you first slide your foot into a deadlift shoe, it might fell like there's extra material around your foot, or that your foot isn't 'strapped in' properly.
