On Mondays to Fridays (except bank holidays) from Wednesday 1 April and until further notice, Bus Éireann City and Town services will generally operate to a Saturday timetable, with the following exceptions. There are no changes to timetables on Saturdays and Sundays.
Bus Éireann to operate a number of services across the country on St Stephen's Day. Customers should also be aware that all Bus Éireann/Eurolines Cross Channel Services are cancelled and all Nightrider services are cancelled but the following services will operate on St Stephen's Day.

Bus Eireann has announced its timetable for Christmas and the New Year. Buses will run every day across the holiday season, apart from Christmas Day, but some will have changes.
There will be no services on Christmas Day . A Sunday timetable will run on all routes on St Stephen's Day. A Saturday timetable with some extra services will run on December 27th, 28th, 29th and 30th.

Passports and Identification. Ireland / Britain routes: Irish Ferries recommends all passengers bring a passport with them. Irish and British citizens do not strictly require a passport to travel between the two countries, but some form of (photo) identification is however required.

Hours of operation vary by route, but depending on your stop, you can usually catch buses as early as 5am and as late as 12am.
Do buses run on a bank holiday? Buses – and trains – do run on bank holidays, unless there's been a specific announcement for a particular service. Most bus services run their Sunday service on bank holidays, meaning you can still catch a bus, but they might end earlier or have longer gaps in service.

The National Transport Authority (NTA) will give Bus Éireann an extra €4 million to pay for the expansion as the company operates the routes under a public service contract with the State body that runs to December 2019.

Will you still let customers pay by cash on your buses? Customers will still be able to pay with cash for their fare, but they will need to have the exact fare ready for their journey as our drivers won't be able to issue change.
Contactless is a quick and secure way to pay for your ticket using a credit or debit card without needing to enter your PIN. If your card or device has a contactless symbol, all you have to do is hop aboard, and tell the driver where you'd like to go.
You can now use your Transport For Ireland (TFI) Leap Card on all Bus Éireann services within the Republic of Ireland. Cheaper than cash, safer, and more convenient, the TFI Leap Card is available from www.leapcard.ie, Student Leap Card or from over 650 locations around Ireland.
No in most cases, our drivers should be able to provide change however, they might have to offer a voucher if they don't have enough change when you get on. You can now pay contactless on most Stagecoach buses.
Generally it is not necessary to reserve a seat in advance on Bus Éireann services. You simply buy your ticket online, at the Booking Office at the bus station before the bus leaves, or from the Bus Driver on the bus if you are joining the service outside the main centres.
